Artist

Basel-based artist Nic Boss sees more in her paintings than just appealing color compositions. As a trained mental coach and hypnotherapist, she gives her works of art a deeper meaning: she uses the teachings of color psychology to positively influence moods in rooms with her paintings. Already very interested in art as a child, Nic Boss has found her calling in abstract art, combined with psychological aspects. The mother of two children has found the right method for expressing her messages in color by working with epoxy resin. She developed the technique through self-study with a great deal of passion, patience, precision and the study of colors.

Nic Boss and her husband Roger live in Switzerland and spend a lot of time in Dubai. The “Mistress of Color”, as she is often called by her fans, draws inspiration for her work from both locations. The rather quieter, picturesque and clear influences of Switzerland merge with the vibrant and dynamic energies of Dubai.

Art as the Center of Life

The fact that everything in their lives revolves around art is also reflected in the Boss family’s living situation. Instead of a living room, Nic Boss’s studio is located in the middle of the house. Here, where family life takes place all around, her lively, profound works of art are created – each one takes around 6 weeks to complete. The extremely time-consuming process requires patience, intuition, precision and a great knowledge of color psychology. Only in this way is the artist able to convey her main interest with her paintings: that people feel supported in their goals and desires when looking at the paintings.
